ESSOKA CYBERSECURITY DIVISION (ECSD) OVERVIEW
1.1 Introducing Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Ensuring cybersecurity requires coordinated efforts throughout an information system. Elements of cybersecurity include: application security, information security, network security, disaster recovery / business continuity planning and end-user education.
1.2 Foundation of Cyber Education with Respect to International/National laws and partner:
In the quest of dealing with the current cybercrime environment while supporting the various cybersecurity actors like SED, DGSN, DGRE, MINPOSTEL, ANTIC, ART, Ministry of Employment of Vocational Training (EVT) to attend the internet resources and cyber safety 2035 vision, Essoka Cybersecurity Division has as a vision to promote a more proactive and adaptive professional approach of fighting cybercrime with educational and services framework via an International Cyber Security School curriculum and an Accredited Training Center that speaks to most identified cyber security needs by drawing from the various certifications/ trainings/ services offered by the EC-Council, Microsoft . Cisco etc.
1.3 ESCD Objectives
1.4 ESCD Mission Statement
ECSD has as mission to be a globally established international information security school and an ATC that will serve myriad of clients within its niche like the government of Cameroon; corporate bodies, financial institutions, schools and authorized individuals etc, with nonpareil cybersecurity education and services.
Core to our strategy is having readily available certified instructors to pass down knowledge to candidates as well as to offer services that will identify vulnerabilities and provide counter measures to combat cybercrime. By running an international school that provides topnotch education that transcends into services (Essoka Cybersecurity education and services) on how to further protect our internet resources and ensure cyber safety, we will build skill sets and inspire many tech savvy Cameroonians on how to further exploit the trending concept of fighting cybercrime: cyberhazards, viruses and plaques that affect the technology that our society has come to rely on. We believe that our education and service strategy for long-lasting security solutions is mainstreamed by putting the end-user at the heart of cyber/information security awareness through a certification criterion (ECC-CSCU) that assays QoS.
1.5 Public-Private Partnership Approach to Fighting Cyber Crime.
Ensuring cybersecurity requires coordinated efforts between the private and public sectors. With the SWOT analysis of Cameroon, it is glaring that, there is a real need for private companies to partner with the government in order to develop and implement the infrastructure required to provide a secured cyber space that can enhance economic development.
The foundation of cyber education and services with respect to International/National laws and partners, is grounded on Essoka Cybersecurity Division’s ability to assist ANTIC to further exploit its action plans geared towards barring the way to the cybersecurity scourge in Cameroon via reinforcing the implementation of the Internet regulation framework, constantly developing activities of the security audit of information systems to help maintain information systems to an acceptable level of security and deter cyber criminality, develop the activities of the security intelligence and response unit to cater for cyber incidents which includes continues training of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to enable them undertake proactive and remedial actions related to computer security and most importantly foster the activity of electronic certification with the aid of its leading edge international school and ATC curriculum and services that will in turn offer Internet users the same security to which they are entitled in the ordinary world.
1.6 ESCD Goal & Objective Strategic Achievement Platform
The Essoka Cybersecurity Division plans on achieving the above goals and objectives via the following platform: Education & Services.
